信仰 (shinkou)

The Japanese word shinkou means also means "Belief" or "Creed" and is composed of the kanji 信 (read shin) meaning "faith, trust, believe" and 仰 (read kou) meaning "to depend, respect, seek". Faith (shinkou) specifically refers to religious faith.
