唐手 (karate)

There are two common ways to write "唐手". This version is more common in Okinawa and translates as "China Hand". It is composed of the kanji (read kara) meaning "China" and (read te) meaning "hand". The other way is 空手 Karate - Empty Hand (karate) meaning "Empty Hand".
