Repentance

懺悔 (zange)

The Japanese word 懺悔 meaning "Repentance" also translates to "Confession, Penitence" and is composed of the kanji 懺 (read zan) meaning "regret; repent; confess sins" and 悔 (read ge) meaning "repent; regret". This is Buddhist repentance (kshama or deshana in Sanskrit).
